Looking local

My newsfeed on Facebook is filled with posts from friends who are overseas exploring the wonders of Europe and various other countries. I’m always envious of the pictures as the places they go seem so exotic and unique, especially knowing that I can’t even think of travelling overseas at the moment with my lack of job and therefore funds!

I think however, people tend to forget that we have some incredible places and things right on our doorstep in beautiful New Zealand! It’s easy to go from home to work the same way each day, run or walk the same routs, stop at just the usual cafes, and overlook the places we haven’t yet explored.

So in order to remedy my need for adventure whilst still keeping on a budget, I’ve decided to focus on exploring what New Zealand has to offer! I’ll be starting in the Waikato as that’s where I’m based but will be looking at other areas when opportunities pop up.

I love supporting local businesses and people so this will be a fun opportunity to see some awsome kiwi people doing cool stuff!

I’ll be sharing my finds and experiences via my blog, Facebook page and Instagram. If anyone has suggestions of places, cafes, restaurants, experiences, or adventures I should look into then don’t hesitate to let me know!
