Cool company profile - Washbar

I’m forever discovering cool, local people and companies with awesome values that I think the rest of the world needs to know about – so I’ve decided to do some company and product features. I’m so inspired by peoples stories of how they’re following their dreams, starting their own companies and making a difference in the world; I want to share these stories so others can join in their journeys and draw some inspiration from them too.

My first cool company profile is:

Washbar

I just love companies who are created out of a genuine need for a product, and who have strong, honest values – and Washbar well and truly fits this description!

Washbar are a New Zealand company who make a whole range of animal care products, which are all completely natural and sustainable. Based in Whangarei, Washbar is a family owned and operated company born out of the need for natural products for dogs who suffer from sensitive skin and allergies to fleas. They now have a whole range of products for dogs, as well as horses and other large animals.

Washbar is run in the most sustainable way possible, the products all natural and sourced locally, the packaging simple and all biodegradable, and they are completely off the power grid… they’re pretty much nailing this whole sustainability thing!

The other thing I love about Washbar is that they support an awesome New Zealand charity called the Kiwi Care Team. In a nutshell, the Kiwi Care Team visit various countries around the world educating locals on how to look after their animals, and providing veterinary care. Washbar support the Kiwi Care Team by providing products to be given to locals so that they can keep their animals happy, healthy and in working order. The best part is that because all Washbars products are natural, there are no concerns that the local people will use them incorrectly and harm animals even more which is a very real concern.

A local company, making all natural products, who run their business in the most sustainable way possible, and who also support other cool charities and people – safe to say these guys are right up my alley!
