Cafe Inc. review

I visited Cafe Inc the week before it opened, to interview the owners for an article in the Waikato Fitness Journal publication. It was absolutely frantic in there, builders and electricians everywhere, we set up camp outside but still struggled to speak over the noise of the construction. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I returned a few weeks later to try it out, but when I arrived it was quite a stark contrast to the building zone I'd visited previously! A modern, fresh and spacious cafe with friendly staff, and a sweets cabinet to keep you entertained for hours.
I was quite taken aback by the story behind Cafe Inc. and it's one, which has made me quite fond of the cafe. Owner and founder Matt, a gruff guy with an impressive beard and tattoos actually suffers from an array of food allergies which he's had to deal with in life. He was sick and tired of being offered just a 'gluten free brownie' at most cafes, and felt alienated from society because of his allergies - so he decided to start his own cafe to combat this issue for others!
Cafe Inc. stands for 'inclusive of everyone', that's people with or without allergies, those who are on paleo diets, gluten free, dairy intolerant etc. The tag line is 'Real food, Real taste, for Real people'.
I've been there a few times now and have been particularly impressed with their sweets and smoothies. Their sweets cabinet offers an array of sugar free, diary free, gluten free goodies which are to DIE for, just delicious. Their menu is understated in that it's almost a 'normal' cafe menu, however all the options are based on whole foods, and are available free of allergy ingredients which is hugely beneficial for the many people with special diets these days. I did find that the food was a little slow and less 'starry' when they were busy, I'd reccomend going at an 'off peak' time to get it at it's best, or grabing something from the cabnet if you're in a rush.
I can't recommend the smoothie called "The Chocolate one" enough...seriously chocolaty heaven which is good for you!
Love your work guys, this kind of cafe is exactly what Hamilton needs and I know you'll be super successful with this venture! Check it out next time you're wanting a coffee date with a friend.
