Creative block
Being an ‘ideas person’ the most frustrating thing for me is when I hit the wall and the ideas just aren’t flowing.
Here’s a few tips I’ve found which help when I’m suffering from a dose of ‘creatives block’.
Change up your environment
Sitting in the same office day in and day out is a sure way of guaranteeing creative block, SO if you’re looking for fresh ideas then you better freshen up your environment! Take your laptop down to your favorite café and camp out for a couple of hours, you’ll be so surprised at the results.
Listen to music
Music lifts my energy and can very easily put me in a creative mood which is great for idea generation! Put together a playlist specifically for those times you need a creative pick me up – I promise it works!
Coffee
Coffee makes me productive – for the most part.
When I have a coffee my mind works at a million miles an hour and I have so many ideas that I actually find it quite hard to keep up.
I find it’s a very useful tool if I’m totally stuck for ideas. I get my pen and paper ready, drink my coffee, and start writing down everything that comes to mind.
The only problem is when the coffee wears off I end up with this huge list of great ideas, and not a lot of energy to actually progress them…
